On a serious note, it's worth noting the proponents of QE, the US and UK, have avoided anything like the depressions and unemployment rate hitting southern Europe.
French unemployment has risen for 16 months in a row now - they're following Greece, Spain and Italy down the depression route. Unt soon zey vill be speakin Cherman.Hard Brexit now!

Unemployment by country:
Germany: 5.4% (11.4% in 2005 - so they cut it by half!)
UK: 7.9% (4.6% in 2005)
France: 10.7% (9.2% in 2005)
So who is in deep tulip relatively speaking? Germany actually reduced unemployment rate, France always had it high so they did not go as much but UK had the highest increase in unemployment rate (nearly 100%).

Not sure how well other countries are good at keeping unemployed people off the books, but UK is certainly done well in this respect.Comment
