Ah, Bob asking for something I know how to do, him not knowing arse from elbow, and presumably earning money from it.

His bosses saying "We don't employ anyone except Indians" was unsaid but that is what they meant.

What you do is find a British female to tell him.

Bob can't "hear" women so even if they tell him straight exactly how to do it he will still say it hasn't been explained to him.

          Good call.

It once took me three days to explain to Bob why some of their code wouldn't work (GET vs POST problem as it happens). I got the impression they thought I was a bit simple and laydees only did testing in their team. :

I've had lots of fun with Bobs doing that.

Oddly I've worked with guys who have come from surrounding countries and they don't have the same "hearing" problems even though some of their countries are known for having a very sexist attitude to women.

                Yep thats true
I had one guy, who I'd explained what needed to be coded to 3 times, with written explanations . Quite a simple change really, but he kept putting in a bloody great loop, which was really not required and was inefficient. He came back 3 times with crap code and the loop still in there.
He was gone a week later
I'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

I was in charge of a Bob, and no matter what I asked him to do, complete with design docs, he did what he wanted to do. My client (it was public sector), used to find it funny hearing me explain to him, time after time, after time again, that I don't care what he thinks, I want him to do it this way, only to see him go away and deliver a different format of what he wanted to do.

He ended up being given the swivel seat, but then got let back into teh organisation, in a different department, about 3 weeks later! Fecking madness.

The one thing, I have always found amusing, is trying to get a bob to admit they were wrong. Try it, it's impossible. No matter if you have Poirot on them, no matter if you catch them with the knife, in the library with Colonel Mustard, with blood on their hands, they will never admit to being wrong.
