    Windows 7 Updates - FFS!

Ok, admittedly I haven't touched this PC for 7 days but WTF?

It's now downloading 218.5 MB of updates.

Christ on a ******* Bike, what is in those damn updates?

My two laptops did 60MB and 90MB yesterday - but neither have MS Office so it might be that.

Or it's a bug fix for Notepad

      Windows 8?
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

            Ummm, that's a good question - I think 3.1 was on 5-6 x 5.25'' floppies (1.2 MB each).

I think Windows for Workgroups was on eight 3.5" 1.44mb floppies

MS Office 4.2 was on 26 or 32 for the not standard version - forget what it was called....

About a dozen as I recall.

But I might be thinking of my Tosh laptop which didn't come with a separate set of Windows floppies. It was one of those distributions which offered to create a full set of installation floppies the first time you fired it up, so possibly had extra drivers which wouldn't be included in the standard MS distro.
