PUBLIC ATTITUDES TOWARDS ROBOTS

Robots are generally well perceived in the EU, but they evoke mixed feelings: Europeans
recognize their benefits especially in the work place, but they also express concerns in
stating that robots should be managed carefully. The fact that they would feel
comfortable having a robots assisting them at work, but uncomfortable having a robot
minding their children or their elderly relatives illustrates well these mixed feelings.
