    No means no!

I'm in direct discussion with a potential client, and have been for a couple of months (one of the big banks, being slow as hell).

Yesterday I get a job spec for the role I'm discussing from an agent who has "stumbled across my CV". He rings me this morning, asking if I read the spec, so I told him that I have already been introduced to the client and can't talk to him about this role. Besides him now having another bank client he wants me to look at () he's trying to worm his way into the relationship with the first.
"Oh, we have a really great relationship with the hiring manager... We're talking to them lots about this role..."
    Course you do, mate.

Anyway, emailed the client and told them what had happened, that I'd told the agency to bugger off, and that I won't discuss the role with the agency as we are already in direct negotiations, unless the client has a requirement for an agency to be involved.

I mean, hats off to the agent for effort, but he should learn when to accept that no means no.

Working...
