Has he been too long in Scotland?

From before the start of the competition Terry Butcher has been whining and sniping at England. Why do you think this is?

    1. He's been in Scotland for too long and has adopted the petty-minded vindictiveness of the Scots who remained in Scotland.

    2. He's still in Scotland and is managing a club there so has to be careful about what he says unless he wants his team to suffer a backlash.

    3. (My personal view) It's sour grapes because this squad has the potential to win something and he never managed it, so he's happy to knock everything about the set-up.

    4. He got a few too many head-knocks when playing as captain heroic.

    5. He's just a twat.

Discuss, abuse chico, defend Palestine, whatever.
    Why not?

before a ball was kicked in the tournament. I've heard him on the radio a few times during this tournament and I would almost swear he's disappointed that England are still in it.

He gets confused bb. Its his age you see.
Anyway, Butcher is just calling it as he sees it. England have been decidedly average so far. He is no longer the manager of a Scottish team either, having just taken over Sydney FC. Perhaps Butcher's problem is that he has not been issued with the customary set of rose-tinted glasses that so many seem to be wearing here in England at the moment? Do they get issued with all of those tacky car-mounted flags I wonder?

            Well perhaps you're right SB.
Statistically you have to be right sometime and maybe this is the one.
What rose-tinted spec.s are these then? The meeja seem to be quite happy to dig at England all the time, and there don't seem to be that many people who think they've a chance of winning.

              No "perhaps" about it DG.

I find that simply taking the opposing position to you guarantees a passable success rate on the overwhelming majority of topics. The uniform application of sound logic on top of that and the sky is the limit. Not that YOU would realise at all.

The ones worn by the cloth-eared buffoons that assume if they simply believe it long and hard enough then that will somehow guarantee England victory.

In fairness, only those within the media who understand the first thing about the sport.

Not outside of Broadmoor, no. But surely that is a good thing?

Wow, what a funny guy you are SB

Are you using the same correspondence course in creative thinking as Sasguru by any chance. And why so bitter? Are you related to Jack (look at me, I'm a twat, but at least I'm a socialist vermin twat) McConnell?

                  Butcher's pissed off because

                  this England team may go as far as the team in italia 90 of which he was part. This is what a real player should look like;
