    Up 2p

Heard petrol is going to possibly go up by 2p a litre AGAIN

When are we going to start striking and protesting.

Surely the petrol price is the same as couple of years ago when the last strike was on ??

The reason people arent protesting is because the English are nothing more than sheep and follow what ever they are told :rollin

Sure that'll make a difference with the world's oil traders that are pushing the price of a barrel through the roof >D

The Govermin know, or think they know, that people (especially truckers) will only start getting really grumpy if fuel prices rise above the magic £1 per litre.

I'd rather it rise 2p than 2 euros

Anyone else glad that Europe has blown up in such a big ****-0ff way

                no repblic - no revolution

If the Man. United fans showed as much energy in opposing gas hikes as they did Mr. Glazer - maybe the government would think about reducing the fuel duty...which alone is more than the Canadian's pay for a litre.

But then the yob's wouldn't get their weekly "salary", then they'd really be riots.

I heard on radio this morning that the average is 86.0p per litre and the highest recorded average was 86.5p - most garages I noticed on my way home were showing 88.9p. $60+ a barrel was mentioned iirc

The main gripe during the last fuel dispute was that GB had left the tax escalator (??) introduced by the tories in place. Since then petrol taxes have only been in line with inflation (I think) and road tax actually dropped for some cars.

I am not sure, but I think fiddle just said something slightly favourable to the government. I suggest that nobody speak to him or even acknowledge his existence until he repents.

I hope it is perfectly clear to all CUK regulars that, without tax, fuel would be free or even that they would pay us to take it away. Without tax, using it would vastly reduce greenhouse gases and very soon we would have Blue Whales merrily disporting themselves in the Medway.
