                  Pffft! I drove from Winnipeg to Ottawa and overnighted in a motel in Northern Ontario . It was -43C at 8am when I went out to start the car. It was sooo cold the suspension was frozen.

                    The licensing laws may have changed but I was amused to see vodka kiosks open 24hrs scattered around Siberian towns and cities . There were some open air bars even in temperatures down to -20.
