    Well said Frank Field

    Well said Frank Field

Frank Field is one of the very, very few Labour MP's I've been happy to listen to in the past.

I believe he's got the pulse here. Far too many politicians are under-estimating the depth of concern the electorate have over current levels of immigration.

Michael Portillo (one half of itchy & scratchy) typified this during the most recent local elections night. Asked to comment on the surge of new BNP support he said, "There is no excuse, no excuse, for voting for a racist party".

Well. To Mr. Portillo whom I normally respect I say, "There is no excuse, no excuse, for any politician to complain the way people vote when the political status quo belittles, ignores & pays lip service to such real concerns of voters".

To those politicians who don't like people (many or most of whom are not remotely racist) voting BNP ?

Then tackle the fcuking issues forcing them into such extremeties.

Yes we know you are there. No need to repeat it twice.

I only vote BNP because I am a racist bastard (hmm or perhaps their manifesto believes in tackling the real problems rather than the demonstrated effort of just shoveling them under the rug)....

Quite right, TheMonkey. Although Michael Portillo says there is no excuse for voting for a racist party, surely being a racist is a very good reason indeed? Or in his ivory tower, do such things not exist?

Why should people be ashamed to vote BNP?

Frankly I'd be more embarrassed to admit I was stupid enough to vote Labour.

(And no, I have voted for neither)

And actually you make a good point CJ. Racists are allowed to vote too, that's what democracy (ho fscking ho) is about.

This Labour government is a hidden socialist movement.

Racists are allowed to vote. Anyone who ever acknowledges the existence of racism is an instant racist by acknowledging that racial differences exist, therefore being racist.

Shooting coons (one of my favourite hobbies) is just plain murder and not a racist offense. Same as I like the taste of slain cow over mechanically reclaimed chicken.

(please note this is intended to be a light hearted study of racism rather than an accurate portrayal of my psychiciatric conditions which include schizophrenia and the inability to spell).

Field hinted at the erosion of culture and nationalism. I've often thought if labour flows as easily as capital then how can such things that depend on 'roots' and shared values (such as nationhood) exist? Perhaps it can be manufactured and nationalism can be rebranded American style (flag in the front garden - perhaps in 10 years time?) or maybe we are 'workers of the world' - a global pool of labour which can be exploited under capitalism or repressed under socialism.

Still, at least you can keep each other company.
So do you use a Limited company or an LLP?

Yeah we're both satisfied with the company. Limited company. The axe murderer has the biggest share unfortunately.
