    Wage Slips

    Hi
I have just finished my first year of trading. I am an IT contractor. Please can someone advise if my accountant should be providing me wage slips? My salary is 6785 as a director. Dividends are 17300. Are wage slips compulsory

I use Nixon Williams and they issue a payslip for my salary payments. I thought it was a legal requirement but I may be mistaken on that.

People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance." Cicero

Wage slips are not compulsory AFAIK (perhaps for PAYE employees), but sensible for the purposes of record keeping, as proof of income/expenditure. Some accountants provide them, others don't. Dividend paperwork is compulsory though.

It's not compulsory, but your accountant should be able to provide them easily enough if you ask for them.

As Jamesbrown says above, dividend vouchers are a necessity though. Make sure you keep original signed copies on file.
