Although when did cleaning up dog poo become mandatory? My doggy-doo days were in the 80s when I'm pretty sure no-one did.

Hence the new(ish) law. Up to £1K fine.

On a similar note, my local town now has special litter patrols who are issuing £75 pound fines for anyone caught dropping a fag end down the drain. (happened to a mate's brother). They have little cameras on their jacket to record the evidence.
