    Edinburgh for contracts

Figured I'd make a thread here since I am new to the forum (but not contracting.) I work in financial contracting primarily, which is a thriving market at present due to scandals both real and fictitious. Currently I'm employed in the Northwest. I've been thinking about going south to London as it is more vibrant for contracts, but does anyone specialised in this area know if Edinburgh might be a good alternative in terms of the volume of contracts it has going for it, what with Glasgow not too far off either? I'm not sure if this is an IT only contractor forum so forgive me if it is but I can't find any others specific to financial contracting.

Longer term I want to look for graduate employment in finance/accountancy as well (as I'm still in my mid 20s), which I've heard Edinburgh is good for as well being a large financial centre, but for the time being I'm more curious about how lucrative contracting up there is. I plan to revert to contracting eventually. I'm not hugely keen on London or the south in general. I like the area but London in particular is too large for my tastes, and the contracts there for my level of experience aren't really adjusted to how expensive the city is, so I'm better off elsewhere.

Had you done this first I wouldn't have got the impression that you were a recruitment agent.

As you're here now I'll say welcome to CUK.

I've got deja vu here - could have sworn I replied to another thread on contracts in edinburgh. Must be getting old.
