    Anyone heard of City banks taking 10% of your daily rate and giving it back at the end of the contract period?

        Never heard of it. I concur - bargepole do not touch with,
        ...my quagmire of greed....my cesspit of laziness and unfairness....all I am doing is sticking two fingers up at nurses, doctors and other hard working employed professionals...

          A major company I worked at once (permie) used to have a 'bonus' for contractors who finished the project. Also, for large fixed price deliverables it is common to keep a portion of the cost back dependent on sucessful delivery.
