Why does Google give different results on different platforms?????

Have an Acer Android tablet which me/missus sometimes use in the conservatory. Thought Google search never seemed to give quite same results as my normal Win7 PC upstairs but now I know doesn't, thanks to my usual schoolboyish substitutions.

"public toothpaste" with quotes (ie public footpath) brings up "No search results" on the Android but loads of links on the PC including the Urban Dictionary.

Eh? I thought Google search was the same whatever the browser. What's going on there then?

PS Yes I do have safe search off on both machines.

PS Maybe I could get a better class of porn if I bought an Ipad. Expensive, I know, but cheaper than the local massage parlour. (or the missus)

        top result for me is

        ToothPaste (Enterprise Java 3.0.2012.2-SNAPSHOT API)

Google have a mobile site - if I look at the bottom of the google page on my phone, it has the option of mobile or classic view - although I get the same results for both.

Another possiblity is that you're mistyping on Android if you're using an onscreen keyboard...

My iPad is getting this thread at tenth place for "public toothpaste" (with quotes) now.

It was pubic toothpaste, not public. That mistype was only here on CUK.

Nope. I did it twice (pubic) just to be sure. I understand there will be differences but surey the search engine would be the same?

Click the classic link and see what results you get.

third place now using Chrome on windows 7. I still have no idea what the OP was looking for originally, and to be honest don't think I really want to know.
