Very good - nice, try Hector.

No, everyone here pays the "right" amount of tax.

I'm convinced I pay too much tax... but in the interest of building this beautiful socialist utopia & saving Africa I actually don't mind as it's only fair.
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

When I was with Parasol, I only paid too much NI once. Further evidence of things going downhill.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

im not hector.. basically im paying too much and its costing me a packet over the course of a year.. i am certain im better off with a ltd even this the ir35 in place now.. im paying NI bloody twice and then the managment fee to parasol and if that wasnt bad enough they almost always mess up my scheulded e expenses and i get hammered by the hector @@@&^%

Bascially what i know is you could pay urself a low wage and then get rest in dividends but am i right in saying cos of ir35 u cant do that anymore?

surely u can right off alot more as expenses that u wouldnt normally be able to do than working through a umbrella ?

also another question whats stopping me from setting up a ltd and then winding it up before the year and kinda not pay any tax at all and say to hector

someone told me you could pay urself a low wage and put the rest through as a "bonus" could someone please advice me as im in the process of getting a ltd and bank account for my next contract

            thanks

Thanks for that advice Angela_D. I have taught myself english in 6 months. I think I have done quite well. Why dont you try and learn another language in the same time-scale and get back to me!

Back to my original question.. If there are any accountants here could they give me some advice

                Thanks

You're not paying NI twice. You pay employers NI and employees NI,which is the same for everybody, Ltd, umbrella or permie (permie's just don't realise they're doing it).

Bascially what i know is you could pay urself a low wage and then get rest in dividends but am i right in saying cos of ir35 u cant do that anymore?
IR35 doesn't stop you doing that, it's just there's no point.

                  No, pretty much the same.

Nothing whatsoever. If you do it right, the government will provide you with free accomodation and meals for a few months.

It's called a dividend. A bonus is no different from salary from a tax point of view.

If you're caught by IR35, there's not much to be gained by having a Ltd, possibly not enough to justify the extra work involved. *If* you're caught by IR35.

You could try here http://forums.contractoruk.com/thread7487.html then ask specific questions about anything you don't understand.
