I have gaps on my CV and my skills are behind. Should I try for perm?

I've done that, and I am regretting it. My suggestion is to stick to contracting, perhaps follow some courses in new skills, join meetup groups related to those new skills, even hire a benched contractor to teach you about some new tech tools, but don't go perm. It is driving me nutty and it will probably drive you nutty too.

Nah - bugger off altogether, I could do with less competition.

If you have a puncture repair kit, you can borrow mine if you like.

Few stains, should wipe clean though.

When ever you have days when you despair, feel like you have lost all hope in securing a contract remember even Suity still gets work.
