What about Transgender people? Intersex and Hermaphrodite?
Not to menmtion 3-rd gender, gender-neutral, etc... it's pretty old fashioned when forms ask you to specify M/F and I expect quite soon it will be a requirement to give more options or explicitly specify "birth gender" or "biological gender".

Why does gender matter at all in this day and age? Unless it's a dating site.
I kid you not on this, I was contracted to a constabulary once and someone in their gender diversity team gave us the list of possible genders that a person could choose to identify themselves. There were a lot more than two :S
