    Paulo Di Canio

He has been appointed manager of Sunderland FC.

David Milliband has resigned from the Sunderland board in protest.

Why all the fuss about him being a fascist? Would anyone be bothered if he was a communist?

Was on the news last night and there is this story showing from yesterday:
Paolo Di Canio has been appointed Sunderland manager | Football | The Guardian

      You sure it's a joke?

Indeed. No joke, it was reported yesterday.

Just kidding. Makes you wonder though.

Can there ever be such a thing as an acceptable openly right wing person in the UK? Outwith the royals obviously.

I think the Italian definition of fascism is slightly different to the all encompassing "he hates blacks and gasses jews" definition we have. Not that the public notices.

BBC and others today were full of apologetic Labour supporting scum saying how terrible it was. Would Millicrap have resigned if they had got a good leftie manager? Of course not. More amazing is that the Sunderland fans haven't been up in arms previously for having a member of the ex-Government that nearly destroyed the country on their Board.

I had forgotten how much of a fanny Alcock looked when Di Canio pushed him...

Strange that the good people of Swindon were never up in arms when Di Canio was appointed Robins' manager.

Indeed, our Paolo was a bit of a folk hero in these parts.

Millicrap resigned because he's off to New York, nice and convenient for him.

In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson
