The weekend after next I'm going to tackle barm-ale bread (using my home brewed beer).

Isn't that bake off rather than masterchef.

Eek Jr 1 is aiming for Junior Bake Off this year. It says you need to be able to accept constructive criticism. I feel sorry for anyone trying to give her any - as she is always right (and remarkable often she is right).

While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

As the late great Keith Floyd says in his book on Italy (Veni, Vidi, Coxi)
pineapple has no place on a pizza and I've lived by that ever since.

Actually I learned to cook from that book and I still look at it now for inspiration.

I impulse-bought a steak & ale pie from Sainsbury's. Apparently it has all kinds of further ingredients, which is presumably a good thing.

The internal debate now raging is over whether to make chips to go with it, or just get a bag from the chippy. I'm drawn to the argument that walking a few hundred yards helps outweigh the (allegedly) unhealthy qualities of pie & chips.
