    Taxes - what taxes

You thought only Google dodges UK taxes? So do all the Brit firms ? The Register

Shock horror most corporates don't pay UK tax
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

Would it be wrong or disingenuous to suggest that a lot of companies do business or base themselves in Britain because it's easy to minimise their taxes? Would they stay if it was made harder?
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

They would continue to do business in UK so long as it's profitable.

Will Sky quit lucrative UK market if they had to pay 20% corp tax on profits made in UK? I doubt it.

They would certainly be most foolish to pay more tax than they have to
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone

Yeah, that's what they think right now.

This thinking should change to - "we'd be foolish to fook with HMRC and go to jail instead of just paying 20% tax on massive profits we make in UK".

That's one company with a big customer base in the UK, primarily serving the consumer market. There are probably many others who are based in the UK but whose customers are mostly elsewhere, especially trading companies in minerals, chemicals, raw materials, shipbrokers and so on.

Would we care if Sky or some tulip coffee franchise fooked off?

              Answer.

              No.

Would they be the ones that have to buy a paperclip from the Cayman islands that costs £20bn wiping out their UK profits?

No, but you'd care if lots of trading operations that hire contractors were to fook off.

Yes, and hire IT contractors to build and test all that mathematical tulipe they run on superfast servers.
