Changing agency for same client??

Hi,
I may have an opportunity to work for another department within the same company at the end of my current contract.
This other department use different agencies however.
My question is: is there a problem going from one agency to another when actually still working for the same company?
I would be working to the end of my current contract for my current department and agency.
Just not sure if there would be any fallout from agency for just moving to a differnt team and using another agency.

Firstly what does the handcuff in your contract say. It probably says that you can't go back to the client for 6 months or more. Whatever the contract says it is the fuss it will cause more than the legalities. The agent could quite happily make sure you can't go through with it just to be bloody minded. In reality the handcuff probably wouldn't stand up in court as the agent isn't losing business over your new appointment but as I say, it's the fuss caused that is the problem.

If the client has more than one agent on his PSL why can your agent not represent you for the new position? Have you spoken to the client owner of the new position and suggested you can do the role but could he use the existing agent?

Negotiation is your best bet to get this one through IMO

Fair enough.
If it comes off, I'll ask the other department if I can stay with current agency. Failing that, I think I'll just see if I can do it on the quiet and plead ignorance if found out.
