    Its a shame that you can't comment on artiles here because the answer is actually very simple.

    For realtime big data use Mongodb. Its the only option that makes sense, actually works in realtime and is used in anger by various firms.

                  I always thought big data meant BLOBs which some of us have being doing for years (plus real time searching of massive amounts of data.) Its really a marketing term, like cloud...
