Contractor loses out on his 'dream' £1,000-a-week IT role

Contractor loses out on his 'dream' £1,000-a-week IT role after unwittingly saying he would treat his Muslim recruiter to a bacon sandwich

Clive Hunt, 58, says he was offered an eight-month NHS contract after attending an interview set up by recruitment firm Reed.

But he says he lost out on the job after he told a recruitment consultant he would 'get the bacon sarnies in'.

While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

That's one way to ensure you never work as a contractor again.

I really upset a Jewish contractor once

One of the contractors on the project I was running decided that after 30 years of atheism that he'd found God again.
Personally I didn't know God was lost, certainly it would explain a few things.

He started whining that Christmas was going to cost him money, the firm shut down for three days and being a contractor that was 3 days money gone.

He went on about this at some length...

So I rang up security who informed me that the LIFFE building we worked in was 24*365 and so if someone wanted to work at Christmas it would be no hassle to anyone, if a bit lonely.

So I let him work Christmas and was duly invoiced for it. I assumed he worked the days and I certainly didn't pay him more, my view being that if I ask you to work anti-social hours I pay, but if you choose them then that's not my problem.

This of course didn't make him observably happier, he apparently liked the idea that we were discriminating against him and when I took that toy away, he grumbled.

They probably found someone willing to do it for even less and Mr C.hunt gave them a handy excuse.
I can't see any agent wanting to lose the commission over an inappropriate bacon sarnie

People do eat bacon as a side or in a sandwich for breakfast. Strange world we live in, one alawys has to check in which direction the wind is blowing ...

in any case, la parole est d'argent et le silence est d'or

hope that Mr CH at least got some dosh from DM.
If UKIP are the answer, then it must have been a very stupid question.
