    Newcastle Upon Tyne Pubs

Can anyone confirm if any of the following pubs still exist and/or are still any cop (by which I mean not a Dirty Nellies style Irish theme pub or such like)?
    1. Broken Doll
(think I know the answer to that :-( )
    2. Barley Mow
    3. Hotspur
    4. Strawberry
    5. Cooperage

...and while I'm at it, is Walkers still there?

Just asking because I was thinking of a nostalgic trip up there sometime.

(May even stop at Scotch Corner and see if I can get my end away on the way up )

Strawberry is still there up till Dec 2012 anyway, not much else around it apart from some football ground for a team I never heard of.

When I was up there I used to go in the Brewdog pub down a steep hill near a viaduct and The Forth on Pink Lane which is a bit of gay name for a street.

Also tried the Long Bar of Get Carter fame but it's not the original Long Bar.....

Tried a couple more in town around the Bigg Market but to be honest they where largely crap. Preferred Swansea (previous gig) for a night out!

Confirmed, you're in for a night of it.

I can't imagine a more non-gay bar than the Strawberry!

Au contraire. Back in the 80s it was a popular hangout for the inhabitants of nearby Dyke's Row.

They all used to go in there and watch Prisoner Cell Block H.

I bow to your obvious experience in the being rimmed in the pub field....

I can recommend the Cross Keys, the oldest pub in Swansea, it was built in 1930.
