    Cancelling contracts

Correct me if I'm wrong, but are you legally entitled to 'change your mind' within 12 days of signing a utility contract?

I'm sure there is a buyer's remorse clause permitting the cancellation of a new contract, without reason, within 12 days of signing.

In certain cases I think it does if you signed up as a result of an unsolicited sales approach. Not sure of details.

Would have thought you can back out of a utility contract on fairly short notice anyhow.

Actually we were wrong; it's only 7 days.
