    Euro gigs

You chaps with euro gigs. What's a good rate, a good honest rate over there. I am being courted for a long term role in Belgium and the rate is €650 a day (7.5 hrs). I'd probably move for the duration, and put some plans on hold, if it's worthwhile. I think, personally, anything over £450 a day is a good rate for the UK (obviously ignoring twats like sas who live in a world with an ethereal quality). But, what would be considered a good rate continent side?

    Depends what you do.

When you say move, you mean the whole family? Otherwise factoring in hotels/apartment + flights means the rate isn't so rosy.

That's indeed what I mean. I'd ship us all out, for the 3 years.

I wasn't meaning compared to a job role, I was meaning is €650 a day a good rate per se i.e. comparing it to the UK for spending power.

It's a good rate for a techie but it depends what you do, where in Belgium and who the clientco is. If it's NATO in Brussels and you're doing some army or intelligence rocket science stuff then demand another 200 on top, otherwise it sounds pretty good.

Brussels is pretty expensive, other places in Belgium its a fine rate.

It's NATO, and niche. Near France, so well away from Brussels.

You might be able to get more out of it with NATO if you can start quickly and have all the clearances. Prices are generally lower in the Frog part of Belgium than in Flanders.

You also need to ask questions about how you will be paid, what will your take-home pay will be.

Friend working in Luxembourg has a good agent who does his pay. He gets min pay per month, balance paid tax free, some kind of bonus.

In Europe, rate is not the only factor.

Not only that but avoid making a blanket assumption those counties using the euro have similar tax status. NET income will always different, depending on you and the country. If you're coming with family then that's usually better, tax status can become even more favourable is you're the sole bread winner.
