New contract, long commute, no work, doing my chunk

    Same old same old....

Must admit log commutes aint my thing. Anything over an hour just does my chunk. I know this is a local trip for some of you in the south east...

Still find it difficult to sit there for days at the start of a contract doing next to nothing and then have a long drive home. Yeh its money for nothing but I still dont think I'll ever get used to it. I find it totally soul destroying....

Before NLUK jumps in - maybe I'm not cut out to be a contractor! ;-)

It's not a maybe. You are not a contractor. Trying to act like one doesn't count.

          It's either day 1 or day 2.

Breath deep and take your own advice....

            http://forums.contractoruk.com/busin...ml#post1726836

Happens all the time. Big companies waste money cos they've got a contractor on board but they aint set up for them or ready....

You can only do so much hassling until it gets annoying. Ask nicely but in the end you gotta go with the flow...

            Work will come eventually......

How about spending your time investing in a nice avatar?
I do think a thread looks untidy when one or more posts lack an avatar (newer posters excepted).

Whinging seems to be a big part of being a contractor based on CUK...
