    Easily affordable

    By Boris -

"New Thames Estuary airport 'easily affordable'

A new four-runway airport on the Isle of Grain in north Kent would need up to £45bn of net government spending over nine years but is “easily affordable”, it was today claimed, as Boris Johnson set out his plan to solve Britain’s aviation crisis. "

So Boris thinks Heathrow airport can be closed and turned into houses?

don't see why not. Closing it is a political decision and once closed the transport links are there to support housing and a good shopping centre.

In fact there is already a suitable shopping centre (high class) in Terminal 5 with a lot of additional retail space available once the planes disappear.

Breathtaking chutzpah from this caricature of a man.

Let me guess - he would gladly contract execution of his crazy plan out to Chinese ?
If UKIP are the answer, then it must have been a very stupid question.

Abi Dubai and Qatar have already indicated that they will support and pay for the new airport.

The land links to Grain don't require much work as a lot of improvements were done with HS1 (high speed trains to Medway Towns and down to Canterbury can be used with little effort).

No HS1 to Medway or Canterbury - once you are past Ebbsfleet its snails pace...

                  Easily affordable.

Let me see, govt borrows more to pay for this. How does govt borrow? By selling bonds. Who buys these bonds? The BoE. How does it pay? It prints money.

                  Yep, everything is easily affordable.

                  Carry on!

Everything's simple in your cognitively reduced world, eh?
