How can someone endorse you for a skill you don't even have listed

Crap isn't it. I have some for Project Management which I haven't done and suck at... People just picking the options that are presented rather than for actual skills demonstrated. I know mine are not correct or a good representation so think everyone else's is the same so Linkedin seems to be on track to be so watered down it ceases to be any use.

Even when you don't accept the new ones, they hang on your profile reminding you like a dose of the clap

We shall skip over what your daughter can now get endorsed for after being away at Uni

yes so annoying and the way it keeps popping up with 4 people with skills to endorse and 1 button to press is crap - endorsements could have been good but they are now an overvalued currency
This default font is sooooooooooooo boring and so are short usernames

Stop looking at it as a way to endorse skills that you actually do have. The more people like you the more you get endorsed for random tulip and then the higher up the search results you feature. Last week I got endorsed for the technical equivalent of tying up shoe laces but I had over a 190 potential clients look at my profile in the last few months so thats progress...

              Yes recommendations were better...

Then stop accepting invites from agents.

Nothing puts me off a profile faster seeing it listed with number of followers, 500+ gazillion

I'll admit yeah it does seem to be agents who randomly endorse anything, however as I am getting more leads from LinkedIn than more conventional sources its something I am gonna have to put up with more and more I guess

Don't forget that an agent speaks to many number of candidates every day. If you spend 20 minutes explaining a concept or a skill to them and the next 30 candidates turn up like shaven apes unable to do much more than spell the skill on their CV then to the agent you have come across as knowing your skills well and worth an endorsement.
