When an end client only works with a small list of agencies

When an end client forces you to go through a small list of agencies... isn't this suspicious to you? As I fear that those agencies don't really represent you in the same way as an agency of your choosing would. In my experience, those agencies on the list are more actively not looking to improve your terms on renewal. Do you agree?

No, it isn't strange and you've got it completely the wrong way around.

Agencies don't represent you - they represent the client - you represent the agent, they are your customer, the client is the agent's customer.

How the client chooses their agents is really none of your business.

No I haven't got it the wrong way round, that's what I'm saying - it's clear that the agent is representing the client and not me in the discussions. My points have not been passed to end client.

Your points don't need to go to the end client - you negotiate with the agent.

This could be a very short question and answer session.

I'm not a troll, I'm used to having agencies spoiling me negotiating well on my behalf, until now, so in the past I never had to say much except "I want a rate increase".
