Best time to look for a new contract?

In my short time contracting I've found it dead for all December and January, I'm aware things can pick up after April when new budgets kick in, July and August seem quiet because it's holiday season, so if I got offered a low rate contract fro 3 months in November I'd probably look on it more favorably. I realise it's generalisations but anyone want to suggest good/bad months to be on the bench? (ok, none, but you get the drift).

Perfect timing depends on your star sign.

Best time is 6 weeks before current one ends

6 weeks? I've never started looking more than a couple of weeks before the end. Often I'll leave it until a week or two after I finish.

Not suggesting that we discuss this very topic every so often, but:

This gives you time to have a nice holiday and attend any selection meetings looking tanned, relaxed and healthy.

5th Wednesday after Pentecost and September 18th are the best dates for me.

                Good luck.

WBS but it depends on how desperate your cash-flow is I guess.
