            Financial crime is hardly at the same level as the misery that 6kg of Cocaine will cause.

            Death penalty would act as a deterrent. And it is probably kinder that spending a life sentence (which could well be 60+ years) in some Peruvian hell hole.

              What about financial crime that makes a company go under causing substantial unemployment in a locality?

                    Like Rover? Certainly the directors should have been made penniless, but there muxt be some sense of proportion.

                    Businesses come, business go. Unless you are a bank when you claim to be too big to fail and can get endless billions to give in bonuses so the favoured few can shovel it up their noses.
