        I knew it was between 0.5 and 0, so I probably could have guessed based on that, but I believe in the exam you will have either a calculator or tables.

            I vaguely remember at university there was some sort of expansion series? I should probably google it but I can't be bothered. It took me quite long enough to find the excel function for cosine. And I was pleaed to remember SOHCAHTOA.

              The Trig question? No need to work it out at all, remember your rules, or use a calculator, especially if given multiple choice.

              The angle was greater than 45%, therefore the distance North would be less than half the distance travelled. Simple logic.

                The exam wouldn't be multiple choice and you would be required to show working.

                    I don't like cosines, so I did a sine of 18 degrees instead

                    You can answer 4. just by looking at the answers; only 1. matches left and right of the = sign.
