    Any whisky fans?

I normally buy pretty low/mid-range stuff, 12yo Glenfiddich or similar in the £25-30 range, as regular drinking whisky. I have £50-55 burning a hole in my pocket to spend on something a bit more fancy.
I could go the boring route of just getting an older version of something I normally get... a Balvenie or Glenfiddich or Jura or Highland Park. Or something less familiar - Longmorn 16 and Glenlivet Nadurra 16 sound quite interesting. Or go left-field and buy Japanese for a change.

As should be clear, I don't like peaty whisky much... any recommendations? This is something to sip and savour, not to drink.

    Glenfarclas do some nice ones.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

If you want to try Japanese, these are both very nice.

If you want to stick to Scotch, the Macallan Sherry Oak is a favourite of mine.

Mannochmore is nice too. It says it's smoky but it's quite light and delicate.

Like you I'm not a fan of overly peaty whiskies. I tried Ardbog the other day and it nearly blew my head off. I couldn't even get my face near the glass without cutting it with some water first.

Add £20 to that £50 for annual membership and taste as much Whisky as you like for free. There's a vault in London, two in Edinburgh, and one in Zurich.

Being single cast they're a lot stronger, but might be what your looking for. Let the fluid evaporate on your tongue and flavours come out, yum.

That's cause you're drinking like shandy. Instead let each drop sit on your tongue and evaporate.

Couple of us have opened a bottle at 55% - 60%, threw the cork in the fire, finished the bottle in one evening and felt perfectly fine.

SMWS is £130 a year and Im not sure where you think you can taste for free. It costs a flipping fortune for a nip!

Oh okay that's for newbies. I pay less as a rolling member.

When you go into the vault the bar man/lady lets you sample as much as you want. Often this is what I'm doing if I'm in London visiting a client, go in for a wee nippie sweetie after a heavy meal. Plus it's lovely and quiet in the rooms with their open fireplaces away from the hustle.

It wasn't the ABV, think it's only 51%-ish. It's the incredibly strong smoky flavour that knocks you out before you even drink it.
