Jaguar SUV; I am not impressed

The company that produced the most beautiful car of all, and some of the most stylish and classy saloon cars of all (particularly the MkII and the XJ series III), regardless of reliability problems in the past, will soon produce an SUV. I struggle to even pronounce those three letters in that order without feeling a slight nausea. SUV's are not for gentlemen (unless they are gentleman farmers, in which case they buy a Range Rover, dark green, no silly chrome alloy wheels please, or a Defender); they are for lottery winning chavs and overblown middle managers with no taste or style. Oh, and footballers. Yuck. What a shame; couldn't Jaguar have stood out as 'the company that refuses to build a SUV'?

Mich the car is aimed at women.

You know the annoying school run mums you see in cars they can't manoeuvre? That's the target market.

Then call it 'Kitty' or 'Puss', but not 'Jaguar' and make it small and pastel coloured. Do you know the significance of the name 'jaguar'? A jaguar in the wild is not a noisy, angry, snarling, stupid creature that stomps around bullying everyone; it's a quiet, subtle, intelligent predator that sneaks up on its prey, pounces with a burst of controlled speed and power and then slinks off back into anonymity. It's also a beautiful animal, the very opposite of a SUV, that parades around flexing its muscles, snorting and posturing. I suggest if they really want to build a SUV they should brand it 'Yak' or 'Gnu' or some other ugly, clumsy beast.

A SUV is just not befitting of a company that made a car so beautiful it made Enzo Ferrari jealous.
