Callous City Councils

Just need to tell you who callous City Councils are. We were at the supermarket yesterday when we saw a stranger, (Indian lady) crying. Trying to console her, she said that her father's funeral was yesterday, he died with virtually no money and neither her or her husband earns enough money for a proper funeral. (they are not on benefits). Her father had been in hospital for months and they handed the keys to his council flat back once they knew he was dying. (rent paid up to date).

The city council has written a letter to demand that either her dead father ( yes they know he's dead) pays three months rent in lieu of notice or failing that she must pay instead (even though she lives in a separate council house) . (WFT!)

I have just drafted a letter for her.

The London CABs are very good but the local one is useless.

Yes. But you're looking at 1-2 years before a resolution. CAB is utterly snowed under these days.

You must be some sort of gubbering idiot. Its Labour who made the councils a law onto themselves and allowed them all sorts of power to harass the public. The Tories are thankfully reigning them back in and putting them in their place. Councils are supposed to provide a public service but under Labour they thought they were a multi million pound business.

Which particular city council is it? Is it a Labour council or Tory? Not that it matters - they're all as corrupt as each other.
