First line support - contracting opportunities

I was just wondering if there were many opportunities in the contracting world for a first line support operative.
This is more of a soft skills role, I know, but I have been in the role in a high pressure environment for the past 10 years - at the BBC in fact!

Ideally I'm looking for something similarly high pressured like investment banking. Anyone here doing first Line support? Any pointers? Thankyou.

First line tends to be temping work rather than contracting work doesn't it?

I am doing it. Key things :-
          business knowledge
          handle multiple issues under pressure
          communication skills
ability to tolerate being abused by traders. you can take it out on TA/MO/controllers etc.
working long and unusual hours (I am in this Saturday).
          handle the communiting

As ever with the city its getting the first gig that counts. Until you get that you are assumed to be a fragile yogel who will leave quickly. Either hate the commuting or atmosphere or be too fick. Too many drop out too quickly. But not for the reasons one would expect.

No offence to you OP but going contracting on 1st line is not lucrative enough to justify taking it over a permanent job. Why not complete some courses and try to move your way up to 3rd line (or at least 2nd line) and then take on contracting.

              +1.

Definitely look to making 2nd line support (3rd line are the specialists usually and often seconded to support on rota duty).

Are you based in Mumbai, Bangalore or Chenai?

All our first line is there now.

I'm in the role for my people skills as I'm quite bubbly and have a GSOH.
