I have been thinking about the HSL2 which may or may not go ahead.
Surely a better option would be a maglev with the existing rail network having branch lines to the mag lev stations so the mag lev pretty much runs straight from London to Glasgow with stops near the major cities e.g. Brimingham, Manchester/Leeds etc.Comment

We could though have better 'park n ride' schemes for example it takes me approx 20 mins to get to the outskirts of Manchester (approx 25 miles) and then another 40-60 mins to get to the centre (approx 5 miles) I would be more than happy to park up and catch some mass transit to the centre.Comment
