The places I end up when I go contracting....

House shares with circus clowns & white witches.... Now it's a caravan on Hayling Island (gig in Havant). Its alright actually. Only 90 quid a week - all mod cons & I get free tickets to the "entertainment". Can't wait to see what tomorrow night's adult cabaret is all about....
    Anyone know the area?

Now that's an interesting option - a caravan site...

In season though I'd imagine a B&B is cheaper

In season some of these sites are quite pricey even with your own van. Mate of mine says he typically pays £30 per night on the south coast in summer. When you consider the initial capital outlay, thats quite a bit.

There are always plenty of farmers who will let you pitch up in the corner of a field for a few quid if you dont mind roughing it a bit.
Edit: There's someone on here who put a camper through their ltd & flogged it at the end of their gig. Can't remember who though.

I bought a mobile home for one gig in the back of beyond; much better than it sounds - I think I paid about thirty quid a week to park it on a caravan site which covered water, electricity, showers, bogs... there was even a TV room and launderette if you wanted it. It was great to have a "home from home" - clean shirts in the wardrobe, decent food in the fridge, own duvet, own bed, own coffee from your own cup etc. etc. etc.

To the OP, I only know the marina at Hayling, and that to leave from or arrive at, but there's quite a nice pub (the anchor I think) just over the bridge, and from there you can walk to Emsworth which is a lovely little town - careful if you walk along the beach though, get it wrong and you'll end up swimming (or, more likely at this time of year, drowning)

Yep, The Ship and Royal Oak at Langstone. I'm quite regular in there already...

Haven't been down to Emsworth yet. Will wait until the tide is out!
