Diary of a permie conference call

Just listening my colleague on the phone and taking notes....

    - We are not dealing with that.
    - Can you please clarify your question?
    - I will get back to you about that.
    - We don't manage this.
    - I have heard something about that but I am not sure of what it is
    - I have to check with my manager.
    - I am not sure about that
    - I don't know
    - It's a grey area
    - I am not so sure about that
    - sorry, can you repeat?
    - I will ask about that

Permies - some are not even worth the peanuts they get.
I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.

"have you spoken to Fred/Doris/the postman?" Particularly when it was Fred/Doris/the postman who gave me the deliverable in the first place...

Is this public sector? Nearly all the permies I ever work with seem pretty competent. I can never find anything to complain about with agents either and it isn't as if I'm exactly placid and tolerant, so where am I going wrong? I feel very upset about being left out of the gripes on this board. Is there some reverse of anger management where I can go and learn to be annoyed at people for no obvious reason?

Perhaps he has been micro-optimising instead of making money.

You are one of them, until you're not.
