Cryptic - I think you should know?

    If you go
    I think you should know
You're closing a door behind you
    And if we meet again
    Try not to pretend
    We lost anything of value
Anyone got a clue which news item I'm talking about?

Why is it every time that comes up, it's made our like the country is a charity case, despite paying more taxes per head than any other in the UK?

Oh no, I'm against complete independence, i.e. a change from how things are now.

I think it's frankly infantile the way so many English people seem to relish the idea.

Anyway, wrong topic, as that wasn't the reply vetran was looking for,

            Bernanke moving on.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

Most English people I know simply don't care. It is the Scottish people who want independence, which I agree is their right. But the Scots I have met can't give a reason of why they want it other than they hate the English.

I disagree, if arguing that they pay more tax is on-topic, highlighting the additional benefits they get for paying higher tax is valid.
