I want to watch Netflix on my TV but I don't know how to. Is that possible in this technological age?

Yes it's possible, if you don't have a smart TV with an Ethernet port or wifi you will need a third party device, easiest is a Nintendo Wii, an old xbox or the like as I assume little legs will enjoy that too.

Cheapest will probably be a Raspberry Pi and XBMC

Is your telly on the internet? If not you'll need some cables to connect laptop to telly. Or a bigger laptop.

Or an Apple TV or an xbox360 (checking with son...) or a PS3 (no need to check).

Hark at me over engineering things, if your laptop has HDMI output that will work
