    Money Worries

The South-east is a money-focused world. While not having money creates problems, having money itself generates worries about losing it, what to do about it, how to look after it.
Apparently this is the reason that people in the South-East are the most miserable in Britain.

So who worries about money ?
    I'm alright Jack

Well, I now live in the South East. On balance I'd prefer to worry about losing money I have, than not having it at all. Yup, I think I can just about live with that one...

Where did this quote come from? Another NL thinktank?

People in the south no longer just live their lives. They worry about earning money, investments, property, pensions, taxation etc.

It's as if everyone has become a mini business focussed on profits and losses.

Just relax. The government will look after you.

Ah come on now Dim, bit of a sweeping statement there. Having just moved down from Birmingham, I found folks there had exactly the same worries. It's just that the overall money pot was relatively smaller. (Oops, sweeping statement from me there - never mind.)

Worrying about money is dangerous to your mind

          Philip Greenspun suggested:

If you can rent anything decent, try to avoid buying property. Think about the most interesting people you know. Chances are, most of them are renters. People who rent talk about the books that they've read, the trips that they've taken, the skills that they are learning, the friends whose company they are enjoying. Property owners complain about the local politicians, the high rate of property tax, the difficulty of finding competent tradespeople, the high value of their own (very likely crummy) house or condo, and what kinds of furniture and kitchen appliances they are contemplating buying. Property owners are boring. The most boring parts of a property owner's personality is that which relates to his or her ownership of real estate.

I have a fantastic built in espresso machine, a superb shower/steam cabinet and an 8 foot jacussi bath. We are nowhere near finished. Wife wants a 6 seater hot tub.
Should I go for the falt panel TV or the projector (LG AN1 should do it) for a big screen entertainment system.
