    Retro tech

    My WM2 died of a broken gear.

    I've still got the bits somewhere.



    I think I paid about £80 for it, which was quite a lot of money back then.

    The 2nd one I bought was sommat similar to this:

    It was beautifully engineered & ran off a single cell.

    Autoreverse too, so dual capstan.

      I had several slightly later ones. I loved them all. Great devices.

          I could only ever afford the dixons/currys own brand ones - Matsui were they called?

          did a job though except for when the batteries got slightly less than full the tape player started to go slower and slower....

          which was annoying.

          oh and also the fact that they ate tapes on a regular basis - especially the cheap C90's used for taping the charts off the rasio.
