I remembering reading about it in the 90's, it was all over the papers about a potential epidemic. Looks like it is almost gone.

On Today this morning the professor who spoke was talking about the possibility of a huge percentage of people incubating it, with incubation periods of up to 50 years. Not out of the woods yet.

It also seems to depend on your personal genetics, this MV, MM, and VV thingie seems to control to some extent the speed at which it progresses.

Which is a happy thought.

It certainly ain't over yet coz the fat lady definitely hasn't sung.

I'd give it at least 100 years, if not more.

Just one of a long line of "there is no evidence....".
Smoking was once said even to be healthy.
Sugar is not yet sufficiently demonised.
vCJD could be lurking for a lifetime.
In non-chemical areas, long-term results from mobile phone masts everywhere are some way off yet. I'm sure they're safe really.

I do know that we'll all die, I'd just rather it were later.
