    Job hunting in North Korea

Stumbled across this, and it really does provide a contrast to our free wheeling contracting lifestyle
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

America actually came there and managed to give half of them (in South Korea) a bit of freedom.

I wonder whether some North Korean soliders might later have regretted the side they fought on. Maybe they didn't have much choice in the matter, but I wonder.

Futuretrack 5: Amazon.co.uk: Robert Westall: Books

A fantasy of the near future in which Britain is divided into Zones and castes to which men and women are pitilessly allocated at the end of their schooling.

Highly unlikely they think this way, more likely they think that among North Korean people they do pretty well being in the army as at least it gets some food rations on the table.

The difference is pretty shocking really, and had it not been for USA then whole of Korea would be like North.

Potentially or maybe the whole weight of korean people would have been enough to over throw the regime but by freeing the south the essentially screwed the north.

but maybe not I am not expert

I suppose that even if the soldiers know that life in South Korea is so much better, they're somehow happy enough because they live comfortably compared to other North Koreans.

They have to be happy... or they get shot!
