    Dividends

Is it the end of the party?

    Lawspeed issued a communication today:

Sky News and the Sun newspaper have both indicated that the Government is due to make an announcement in relation to curbing the use of self-employment as a means of avoiding national insurance, with plans expected to be outlined by the Chancellor this Thursday. The Treasury has declined to answer our own enquiries on this.

Thursday could prove to be a very interesting day.

Dividends aren't issued to self-employed. Unless they've a share portfolio of course

I saw him saying on the telly the other day how the shortfall in the cut of eco taxes on energy will be made up for by anti tax-avoidance measures. So maybe he's about to deliver, and it'll be you lot who have to pay.

          Cheers.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

It's referring to the definition of 'self-employed' for tax purposes, which affects all office holders.

Well it was coming anyway. No way most of you lot with your single, sequential clients, some of which you work for years, are businesses.
Although no doubt there'll be lost of whinging rather than changing your business model to become real cos.
                Hard Brexit now!

Surprised they haven't waited until m'luds have finished their enquiry though.

Is this a bit like George Osborne MP flipping his second home to claim huge mortgage expenses?
