    Infinity 2

PHWOAR!, just had BT infinity 2 installed after ditching Sky BB (and TV)....Vroom vroom

Gone from 8-10Mbits to ~70Mbits. Upload is now faster than previous download speed.

Anyone here have this (or even faster cable)?

and do you really use it/need all the extra bandwidth?

I went from EE at about 6-8 Mbps to Zen FTTC at about 73Mbps a couple of months ago.

My wife is happy as her MMO game doesn't lag now, and I'm happy as I can stream 1080p Youtube / HD Netflix without lag while she's playing her games. If there's a recent series I want that's not on Netflix I can torrent one episode, start watching it and know that the next episode will be done by the time I finish the 1st.

I've been too tired to game much myself recently, and need to rebuild my PC over Christmas, but I think I'm going to get on BF4 tonight and hopefully enjoy some lag free murdering.

I can't get it because Mr C doesn't want to lose his free weekday evening calls (he has very chatty relatives)

Yep, multiple bandwidth hungry apps can be a pain.

One thing that we will try now is switch Dropbox back on our mobile phones. The wife and I returned from 4 weeks hols in the summer to find that broadband had gone from OK to just awful. Just out of chance I was rebooting my phone whilst running another speed test from the PC and realised my mobile phone was causing the trouble. Dropbox was uploading all kinds of videos and photos and choking the < 1Mbps uplink, which then rendered the 10Mbps downlink useless.

I can't see that kind of download capability it would be of any use to us except to make sure everyone can watch HD streaming at the same time. I could use a faster upload than the standard 1Mbps you get even with fast ADSL though.

I have it, the other good thing is it's truly unlimited.

                    London : 60Mb Virgin Cable
Devon : 6-8Mb Orange ADSL. Nothing faster available, but then again we are only down there 1 weekend a month.
