    I don't want to get to 90

From what I've seen, it ain't werf it. If only eating and drinking too much could guarantee a nice quick heart attack at 80 I'd go for it like a shot. I'm planning my exit before it all goes tulip, and I'm not joking either.

Are you sure? Should I tell my mum who's 90 next week?

Lives on her own, struggles to see or hear much, but still enjoys a huge amount of independence (internet shopping is good)

By the time most of us get to 90 (for those that do), it'll be nothing like getting to 90 is now.

You reckon there'll be drugs or something to stop us from losing our marbles?

And slow down/reverse the effects of ageing on the body. That's what I'm hoping anyway.

a small bag should help with that

Mama Bacchus struggles to see and hear, but rarely struggles with the Torygraph crossword...

Mind you her sister had Alzheimers. Dreadful, dreadful, dreadful.

Ya, one of my aunties suffers from it. Some days she's there, others she's simply not. It's sad to watch. That being said, she's not even two thirds of the way to 90.

I saw something on tv the other day about a early pill that has been developed. Right now it would cost £50k per day, so it'd be a while before it was commercially viable. I can't remember if they'd tried it on humans yet or not.

The last thing i saw a while back some other guys had stopped all ageing in mice - but the mice just died of cancer as their cells just malfunctioned instead of dying off and being replaced as normal. So oddly ageing seems to be an important part of not ageing

It'll take some time before this stuff is hammered out and commercialised. I've a very long way to 90, or even 60, so I am hoping by then it will be. Focus had an article some years ago where they predicted that the ageing process would be halted and reversed by 2040. I wish I had kept that edition of it.

With the ageing population I think voluntary euthanasia will be legalised, we will be on one way trips to Switzerland
