When should I start feeling old?

    37 in March and I feel like I'm 90.

Can't drink like I used to. Can't play football any more, knees and hips are shot.

I'm quite into kettlercise and cycling, but everything getting much more gentle.

I just can't push myself as hard as I used to. Should I be able to push myself, being only 37, or is 37 very nearly 40 and I should just accept it and STFU?

Obviously it's down to your genes, and there are some folks on here who are well into their 50s doing iron men comps, but I'm on about normal schmo's.
Knock first as I might be balancing my chakras.

You should STFU, but you won't.

If you mean within the context of this thread, then sure.

But generally I can't. I've grown into something super awesome as a contractor and I must keep contributing. Giving something back to those less capable, see.

Weak excuses. I last played first class sevens rugby at 39. Would love to have carried on but everyone was getting faster and I wasn't, plus my shoulder was buggered so now I race bicycles. There is no excuse to end up in a state of semi-vegetative impotence before you're in your 60s except if you're doodab or you've had a dreadful accident. Get your arse off the seat and get yourself fit, and otherwise just accept you'll be old before your time. Wimp. MTFU.

I am 37 in February. I feel older but not too old. I can still out fight most people in training sessions and in battles people who do take me down have to work at it.

At Krav Maga I am normally one of the first people on my feet after exercise sets despite being older and heavier than most of the guys there. I also have a right hook people make a conscious effort to avoid when sparring.

When I was in Tabor last year I was up until 5.30am drinking and was up and around by 10.30am looking no worse than the younger guys (yes, it was the same day!).

You are not too old yet!

Think of the benefits of getting yourself fit; Mrs Suity will be so impressed she'll want a good seeing to every day and you'll be able to perform. Better sex life, more intense orgasms, increased self confidence, a feeling of good health and so on. Just get on with it, and not too gentle either, if you´re training a few times a week and you really want to get fit then at least one, but not more than two of those sessions should be really, really punishing.

Do you mean in terms of muscle?

Have you bought a new wetsuit or given up rowing?
